June Challenge...

It's challenge time here again at The Story Matters and I {Megan} am so excited to be hosting this month!
This is my third month here @ The Story Matters and I am so excited to be a part of the team! I am mommy to 2 boys, married to my highschool sweetheart and live in Aledo, IL. I began scrapbooking in 2002 when I was pregnant with my oldest son and have been addicated ever since! I love the idea of preserving our family photos and leaving those stories for future generations.

This months challenge is:
{share your favorite summer memory}.

Whether you have a traditional place you go every summer or there's that one summer memory you never want to forget; scrap those memories and share your story with us! Leave a comment with your link for your chance at this months prize!

Here are the stories from our TSM authors:

Megan:
Title: A week of adventures and memories to last a lifetime.
Journaling:
One of my favorite summer memories is taking my boys camping in Indiana @ Turkey Run State Park. It was such a fun week because it was a group of just moms & our kids. Even though it rained most of the time & we had racoons that invaded our camp, thunderstorms that knocked a tree limb onto our tent, & we got lost on our hike, it was a memorable trip. Hopefully one that my boys will remember for a long time. I realize that time with my boys as a "cool mom" is limited, so I'll take as many of these moments as I can get!

Sophia:
Title: Swimming and Summer Fun
Journalling: It was Christmas Day (in Perth) & we were over at GrandAunt Cindy's friend's place for a swim & dinner. Uncle Tim & Aunt Gracia had a fun time with you.

Liesbeth:
Title: Good times
Journaling:
With you being “hot” all the time, our summer vacation happens in the fall. October & November are good months for you. Our trip to the US has been our best EVER!
San Francisco 10/07 – under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Sasha:
Title: Our Fun Day
Journaling:
I believe our best summer days were
Spent overseas. So much to see and do
So many things to experience. One of
Our favorite trips was going to Thailand,
Hawaii, Tokyo Disney and China …
So many memories for our children.

Angela:
Title: Her story as told by him
Journaling:
I was so happy to see you finally arrive on October 30th, 2007...I had been (patiently, not!) waiting for over six months to meet you. Every time mommy had her morning (all-day) sickness, I asked if you were coming because I knew you were in mommy’s stomach and thought vomitting might be the way you got out of there. When you arrived, I got to see you have your first bath, and I introduced you to Shobhatta as “my baby sister Maia”, just in case she didn’t know! You weren’t very much fun at first...just alot of crying and sleeping and eating...but I did really enjoy holding you. I also liked all the new stuffed animals you got...and quickly adopted them as my own as you couldn’t really take care of them yet. I could always make you laugh...you were such a giggly baby! I loved how you wanted to watch me all the time and do whatever I did, even if you were too small. Your first word was, “dede”, which Daddy tried to say was “dada”, but I know you meant “Devon”. When we went to India when you were 9 months old, for Tataiah’s 75th birthday, I couldn’t understand why you were getting all the attention...when I came when I was 1, I got all the attention...I guess it was because you are the only girl grandbaby on Daddy’s side-7 grandboys and 1 grandgirl-YOU...I guess I’ll just have to get used to that!

Tina:
Title: Halsey's Camping Out
Journaling:
2007
this was the first yr we have camped as a family. Summer's first time ever, she loved it as much as we did. It's a great way for us to bond and grow closer as a family. A get away from the distractions of everyday life.
2008
so much has changed out here at the cabin. James has built a pull barn and has rebuilt the cabin, the whole outside is now complete. Hopefully next yr we can stay in the cabin we cant wait. But for now we are still enjoying pitching the tent.
