Dude, i love you...

Well, since Father's Day is just around the corner, I thought I'd show a card for Dad with a fun technique that can be used in lots of different ways!

1} Start off by creating your card with 1/2 sheet of cardstock and use pattern paper for the background.
2} Next take a stamp of your choice {a solid image works best for this} and stamp on pattern paper with versamark ink...

3} Cover with clear embossing powder...

4} Heat set with heat tool and it will look like this...

5} Next, take a sponge and a dark classic {water-based ink pad} I used Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up! and rub ink over top the embossed image...

6} do this same technique overtop of a rubon... {This works especially great with white rubons!}

7} Add stitching with the Xyron Design Runner...

8} Trim pieces to desired size and add to card, add rubon to a wooden button and your card is complete...

Supplies I used:
Stampin' Up!: cardstock, stamps, versamark ink, clear embossing powder, chocolate chip ink, & sponge
Cosmo Cricket: pattern paper & rubons
Xyron: design runner stitching and adhesive

Here are a few other samples I did using this technique:
over a rub-on...

over an embossed image...

And one more quick & easy tip:
I always staple my rub-on sheets at the top before I start cutting the images away to help keep the back sheet in place...

I hope everyone enjoys trying out this fun technique and I'd like to thank you for checking out The Story Matters! Don't forget to leave us a comment HERE with a link to your "favorite summer memory" page and a chance to win prize. {deadline...June 30th}
